Food meme
Kat's gone and tagged me - the naughty thing! - but I'll try to be a good sport about it...The rules:
1. Add a direct link to your post below the name of the person who tagged you. Include the city/state and country you’re in.
Nicole (Sydney, Australia)
velverse (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
LB (San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy)
Selba (Jakarta, Indonesia)
Olivia (London, England)
ML (Utah, USA)
Lotus (Toronto, Canada)
tanabata (Saitama, Japan)
Andi (Dallas [ish], Texas, United States)
Todd (Louisville, Kentucky, United States)
miss kendra (los angeles, california, u.s.a)
Jiggs Casey (Berkeley, CA, USA! USA! USA!)
Tits McGee (New England, USA)
Kat (Ontario, Canada)
Cheezy (London, England)
2. List out your top 5 favorite places to eat at your location.
La Terraza (Clapham)
Spanish tapas place. Their food isn't high art (but it's definitely good enough) and the informal vibe makes it a great place to go with a group of friends.
Maharani (Clapham)
A new discovery for us, but this is probably the best Indian I've had in London so far. The tandoori chicken kicks arse.
North Pole (Canary Wharf)
A simple no-frills pub serving simple no-frills lunch - egg and sausage/bacon with chips/beans, egg and bacon sandwiches, jacket potato with cheese'n'beans, ham and mushroom omelette, ploughman's lunch, etc. This place is a welcome - and incredibly cheap - escape from the soulless and wanky chain pubs elsewhere on the Wharf.
Thai Cottage (Soho)
Extremely yummy Thai curries at fair prices - and best of all, they take you seriously when you ask for a hot one.
St. John (Smithfield and Spitalfields)
Wonderful (and unpretentious) restaurant specialising in game and offal. I'd eat here all the time if both my wallet and arteries could stand it. Having said that, it's actually pretty cheap considering (a) the quality, and (b) it's in London. (NB: The picture above is St. John's rolled pig's spleen and bacon).
3. Tag 5 other people (preferably from other countries/states) and let them know they’ve been tagged.
If you can be arsed...
The Deltoid Advisor (Way Out West, New Zealand)
Mirk (somewhere in Scotland, I believe)
Stef (London)
Paula (in California, I think)
tafka PP (Israel)

wooo... Spanish tapas... is it expensive? Tapas are kinda expensive over here... even when they taste less delicious.
Thanks for your nice list :) Thanks for doing the tag too. Nice to meet you

Kat: Mmmm, I will get back to you about that!
Velverse: By London's (admittedly very pricey) standards, that tapas place is not expensive at all. Our bill usually works out to about £20 a head, and that's with wine/beer included too.
Nicole: No worries... and I was actually wondering whether to include the North Pole, seeing that the meals are so basic and very much like what you'd cook at home... but then it occurred to me that this is exactly what I like about it!
Tafka: Cool, I'll have a look later :)

For once I am pleased to be tagged, because I can't do it. Not through lack of willpower you understand! Why?
Well because not being as cosmopolitan as all you from the big smoke, wee me up here in the backwoods of Scotland.... well I don't like to frequent eateries!
Apart from when the wife forces me to (and I mean force) on a very rare occasion ( a local hotel) and it's not because I am a mean tightfisted Scots git (then again ) it's just a I hate them and they are an overpriced waste off money.
I don't get the point of them? I like to spend my money on things you can keep and do not go in one end and out the other the next day. You can tell I am a romantic can't you ;0)
Sorry I could not do the tag! I know I'm a sad eejit.

Not to worry, Mirk. That was a very understandable - not to mention amusing - 'refusal'! :D

Hi,
I love Spanish Food, the tapa I prefer is jamon Iberico.
If you also like it you can go to the Spanishtaste
shop.
